Pining for Affection
“Let me set the scene, cuz that’s all I’ve ever been”

Planted in the background of a royal affair, a tree dreams of growing above and beyond his humble roots. With the help of his nocturnal friend, a catchy beat and a bloodied axe, our titular tree will branch out of his comfort zone towards a life of fame. Sugar-coated with charm, wit and ridiculous fun, this all-new, all-original musical is the comedy show you never knew you needed, 'til now.
My role in pining for affection was a small one that began when my friend Dylan hit me up to create a cartoony tree costume for a little skit he planned to showcase at Monash Uni’s quant cabaret festival. The success of that soon propelled to a slot in Melbourne’s International Comedy Festival, which meant more costumes and a lot more fun.
